Lakeview Mental Health Services

Residential

Lakeview’s Residential Program provides a variety of housing options for individuals recovering from the impact mental illness has had on their lives.  Each housing option provides support and guidance in regaining skills lost as a result of mental illness and enables individuals to work toward personal goals in a safe, supportive environment.  Through the use of an individualized service plan, residential staff assist people in developing the skills necessary to be successful living independently.

Individuals residing in the residential program receive support around areas such as self-advocacy, collaborative decision making, and healthy relationships.  Each team of staff introduces resources and provides assistance needed to reach personal goals and develop life management skills.

Individuals interested in any of the services described below should contact the county’s Single Point of Access (SPOA) Coordinator.  The contact numbers are:

Ontario and Seneca County: (315) 789-0550

Tompkins County: (607) 274-6200

Wayne County: (315) 946-5722

Community Residence Program

Community Residences provide a home-like atmosphere to 8-14 individuals with on-site staffing 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  Lakeview’s Community Residences are located in Ontario, Wayne, and Tompkins Counties.  Each home is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Supportive Apartment Program

Supportive Apartment programs offer a variety of shared and single living environments in Ontario, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne Counties.  All locations offer easy access to:

  • Shopping
  • Banking
  • Work/School options
  • Recreation
  • Health care providers

This program is certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health.  Staff are available on-site during daytime and evening hours and are available by phone for emergencies overnight.

SRO (Single Room Occupancy)

Lakeview’s SRO is a 38 bed facility in Tompkins County with on-site support specifically targeted to individuals who have had limited success in other housing environments.  Each individual has a private room with a bathroom and kitchenette.  The SRO does provide meals through its kitchen for those who choose to participate in the meal plan.  Program staff provide a range of services that include medication management and daily living skills.  This program differs from Lakeview’s other residential options in that it does not fall within the traditional rehabilitative model of residential services.  For this reason, both staff and residents have the ability to create service plans based on quality of life goals that do not necessarily revolve around transition to more independent housing.
